The hologram-embedded rubbery wristbands “work with the body of the user’s natural energy field” and the method applied is like the “ideas behind many Eastern philosophies”. The power balanceweb site explains the holistic method that has been used to design the power bracelets. These claims got the attention of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, which compelled the Power Balance company to issue a letter that was published in various media outlets Down Under.

“We admit that there is no credible scientific evidence that supports our claims,” the company wrote. “Therefore we engaged in misleading conduct.”
The letter goes on to say that “if you feel you have been misled by our promotions, we wish to unreservedly apologise and offer a full refund.”
The law suit wants California-based Power Balance to refund up to $5 Millions.
In a follow-up statement posted Tuesday on the organization’s Facebook wall, Power Balance stated that it is standing by their wristbands and may continue to sell them, announcing that their claims only slid short of Australia’s regulatory standards. Among Power Balance’s most wholehearted endorsers is Branagh, the previous star volleyball player at the School of Minnesota who went on to compete on sand in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games . Talking about the high quality up 70% off bracelets sale online, Branagh claimed, “when I put the band on, I just feel more targeted.
Branagh continued, “since I was introduced to the bracelet in 2009, I haven’t played without it.” Notwithstanding stories of the admission reaching the North Hemisphere, the bands remain sold at General Sports in the 50th and France shopping district bordering Minneapolis and Edina.
“People are still buying the Power Balance,” said Nick Hoiseth, General retail manager. Hoiseth admits, “I started wearing a Power Balance bracelet myself after shoulder surgery and it worked for me”.
Hoiseth said that sales were brisk leading up to Christmas. “We sold at least 20 bracelets per week and the store has no plans to pull them off the shelfs and we are rolling with the bracelets as long as they are moving,” added Hoiseth.
